Helping the next generation of sports stars and coaches
Sir Stanley Matthews will always be remembered for his talent and success on the pitch which brought pleasure to all those who watched him. Now it is his legacy which is bringing pleasure and helping the next generation of sports stars and coaches.
The Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation was set up in October 2000 to create opportunities for young people in the local community to develop their sporting disciplines.
Our vision is for more young people to have more access to more sports.
Young people should not be excluded from participating in sport due to their financial circumstances or sporting ability. Not every youngster will reach the top level of their chosen sport, but everyone can benefit from the fitness, sportsmanship, perseverance and other skills that are fostered when taking part in a sport of any type.
We are committed to ensuring that every young person can benefit from the benefits that sport brings. We will continue to reach out to as many youngsters as we can, whatever their ability or background.
Help to continue the vision of Sir Stan. Every penny goes to supporting young people in sports.
There are a number of different ways you can donate if you would like to help the foundation.
The Foundation is run entirely by volunteers and a £20 per month donation will pay for ONE coach to be trained to help at least 50 more young people.
