LOCAL HERO MENTORS
We really value the young people taking part in our 'Local Hero' programme and want them to succeed, not just in the programme but also in life. That is why we have brought on board some other heroes from the world of sport, business and entertainment to encourage and mentor them. Our team of mentors work alongside our young people, finding out about what they are doing on the programme but also getting to know them personally, speaking to them on a regular basis, finding out about their hopes and dreams and being in their corner. Life can be tough sometimes but if you've got someone rooting for you, interested in what you're doing and cheering you on, it can make a huge difference. Let's find out a bit more about our mentors.....
HANNAH ROBINSON
​Darlington born, two time British Champion Hannah Robinson has been part of the Team GB Boxing squad since 2018 and has her eyes set on Olympic gold. Fighting at lightweight, Hannah also studies at Sheffield Hallam University and is taking a Masters degree in Nutrition for Sport and Exercise.
CONOR WASHINGTON
​Conor Washington will be a familiar sight to Northern Ireland fans. With over 30 caps for his country, Conor was one of the heroes of Euro 2016. Currently playing for Charlton Athletic, he has also played for QPR, Sheffield United and Heart of Midlothian, scoring nearly 150 goals in the process.
