Northern Ireland has a proud football history, producing world class players such as George Best, Danny Blanchflower and Pat Jennings, and producing a steady stream of footballers playing in top flight football in England and Scotland.  However, the sectarian violence known as 'The Troubles' has cast a long shadow over Northern Ireland and it's legacy can still be felt in many areas today.  That is why we have established a new project in Belfast, working with children and young people to help provide a better future for them, their families and their community.

'Project Playmaker' delivers free football coaching sessions for children living in north and west Belfast, providing a safe and welcome environment for children to come along and play football under the guidance of our Playmaker coaches.  We also deliver our 'Local Hero' mentorship programme for young people aged 15-25 years old, training cohorts of aspiring community coaches, providing nationally recognised qualifications, work experience and employment opportunities.
