ONSIDE SOCCER

Onside Soccer is known as an innovative footballing organisation, introducing a kit scheme for the children whereby they 'earn' their Onside shirts by attending sessions, having individual training plans for each player, developing the 'Onside Goals' life skills programme and for their healthy eating scheme for their players, giving out free fruit for the children at the end of each session.

The Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation has helped Onside Soccer by providing training for their team of Coaches as well as by attending their summer camp and annual Prize Day where Jean, Patron of the Foundation, met the children and parents, as well as the Coaches and gave out prizes to the children.

Onside Soccer is a football charity based in south London.  Started in 2009, it was primarily set up to establish football academies for underprivileged children in the developing world and it currently runs two long-term projects in Uganda, as well as a project in India and one in Gambia.

In 2015 Onside then started a project in Carshalton, south London.  From humble beginnings, this project has now grown to have 60-70 local children attending free football sessions each week and in 2018 they formed the 'Onside League', which is an internal league competition designed to introduce the children to playing competitive football but in a controlled environment.
